Homeowners insurance

Protection for the place your life happens.

Your home is the center of everything — and on the Gulf coast, protecting it takes more than a generic policy. Tyler builds homeowners coverage around the structure, what’s inside, and the life you live there.

Insured correctly

Rebuild cost, not guesswork.

Plenty of homeowners are insured for the wrong number — market value instead of what it actually costs to rebuild today, with current materials and labor.

Tyler confirms your dwelling figure is right, makes sure your belongings are genuinely covered rather than quietly left out, and reviews the liability that protects everything you’ve built.

What it covers

What a home policy should cover.

Dwelling (Coverage A)

Rebuilds the physical structure of your home after a covered loss.

Other structures (B)

Detached garage, fence, shed, or dock — the things beyond the main house.

Personal property (C)

Furniture, electronics, clothing — your belongings inside the home.

Loss of use (D)

Hotel, meals, and living costs if your home is uninhabitable after a covered loss.

Personal liability (E)

Protection if someone is injured on your property or you’re sued.

Medical payments (F)

Covers minor guest medical bills regardless of fault.

A warm, well-appointed living room interior

Don’t overlook the contents

Make sure what’s inside is actually covered.

It’s surprisingly common for a policy to insure the structure but quietly leave out personal property — or to cap valuables like jewelry and art far below their worth. Tyler reviews your contents coverage and schedules the items that need it.

Ways to save

Smart ways to lower your home premium.

A few simple things can move your rate. Tyler checks each one and applies what you qualify for.

  • Bundling home with auto
  • Claims-free history
  • Protective devices (alarms, smoke & water sensors)
  • A newer roof
  • Paid-in-full and paperless billing
  • Loyalty and longevity

Good questions

Homeowners, answered.

Is my home insured for what it’s worth?
Your policy should insure the cost to rebuild your home, not its market value — which includes land and location. It’s worth having Tyler confirm the rebuild estimate is current, especially after any improvements.
Does homeowners insurance cover flooding?
No — standard homeowners policies exclude flood damage, which is a real exposure on the Gulf coast. Flood is a separate policy; see our Flood coverage page, and Tyler can help you put one in place.
What about my jewelry, art, or collectibles?
Standard policies cover valuables only up to sub-limits. Higher-value items can be specifically scheduled for their appraised value. Tyler can review what you own and make sure it’s properly protected.
